For any of the Murdoch clan to accuse ANYBODY of monopolizing ANYTHING is so ironic that it makes a mockery of reasoned discourse -which Murdoch's "Fix" network never adopted in the first place and which is the repository for any and every right-wing-nut who wants to spew hate to a large and mostly ignorant-of-the world viewer demographic.
If Murdoch had his way (and he keeps trying), there would be no competition nor dissension from this uber-tabloid mess and we'd be in an Orwellian "1984" situation.
Those who shout loudest about "Freedom" and "Diversity" are the first to take it away, given any opportunity.

Poor James Murdoch (and daddy)! So because News Corp can't buy out and dismantle the BBC, James has a hissy fit. Come to Australia where TV is as Americanised and cheaply put together as possible. Murdoch's ultimate media heaven - low brow programming, poor & parochial news services, commercial breaks very 10 minutes and top profit for his daddy's company. I worked for News Ltd for 16 years, believe me they HATE competition of any type! So I'm not sure why he accuses the BBC of stifling competition! It's exactly what he would (and does) do!
From a quality, innovative TV starved nation - thank God for the likes of the BBC!
